Tranche soaps — a slice cut from the traditional Marseille block and hung on a cord. The same authentic soap as the cube, in a format that is easier to display and easier to use. Supplied to UK trade by Natural Wholesale.

Two sizes, two recipes

Small, approximately 150g: Vert Olive Oil and Vegetable Beige. Large, approximately 300g: Vert Olive Oil and Vegetable Beige.

Both green versions are palm oil free and all four are fragrance free, stamped with the official guarantee. Weights are approximate because each slice is cut from a block by hand.

Where it earns its place

The tranche is the best-looking way to sell traditional Marseille soap. A cube is a plain block; a slice on a cord reads as a product, hangs on a rail and photographs well. It suits refill shops, kitchen and homeware sections, and anywhere the customer is buying for the sink rather than the bathroom.

Case sizes vary by size — 6, 20, 33, 40 and 66 — so check each product page. The case of 6 is the sensible way to test the format before committing.
